Blogging For SEO

Update:

The only reason to develop a website is to attract people to it.  Some developers do it because they have something to say and want the world to be able to read it.  Others do it because they have something to sell and want the world to buy it.  No matter what the reason you will need to use Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to attract the most viewers.  While there are many ways to achieve SEO one of the most effective and sometimes illusive is through the use of Blogs.

Blogs, or any other writing you may do for the Internet,  should be a quality product.  Anyone can throw together a collection of words but you want something that others will want to read.  With an interesting, well written subject you can start to build links to others and develop your own SEO network.  In this way you can expect your blogs to pay off at a much higher rate than if you only had your own single blog out there.

Clear meaningful writing is only one key to SEO development.  There is also a need to have a keyword rich content in your blogs.  You can start out by asking yourself what word or words you would type in to to find information on your subject.  Do you have those included in your blog?  Now type these words into your search engine and see what you come up with when the search engine produces its results. Do these hits reflect the type of material that you are writing on?   Read through the top hits and see if you can discover any other key words that they used.  If it is the type of material you want,  these are the words that you want repeated throughout your blog.  And by repeated,  they should not just be randomly inserted but placed strategically in meaningful places in your writing.

Finally put a title on your blog and be sure that your key word is included in it.  There is a tendency among the blogging population to be creative in titles and that is understandable.  But you have to ask yourself which is more important,  a catchy title that shows your creative genius?  Or, a title that contains the key words that the search engine is going to connect with?  If the search engine does not bring them to your site,  they will never read your title.
